Day Hike - Coldwater Lake

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE due to low snow level- Start at the Coldwater Lake Trailhead off of Hwy 504. Hike 9 miles RT along the lakeshore to the junction with the Coldwater Ridge Trail gaining 550 feet of elevation.

NOTE Change in meeting location to Coldwater Lake Trailhead off of SR 504 at 9:30am SHARP. We will leave by 9:45 whether all participants have arrived or not.

A NW Forest pass (Or America the Beautiful National Parks Pass) is needed at this trailhead.

NOTE THE CHANGE IN MEETUP LOCATION AND ROUTE DUE TO SNOW LEVEL. Consider bringing poles and/ or microspikes in case the trail is icy. We will hike the 9 mile RT Coldwater Lake Trail gaining only 550 ft. In either case we will be back to the trailhead by 4pm at the latest. We will take breaks and hike at a slow-moderate 2 mph pace. If you are a trail runner this may not be the trip for you. This trailhead is a little over 2 hours from Tacoma.
