Coal Creek Natural Area

Day Hike - Coal Creek Natural Area

Come join my Monthly Sunday Morning Hiking Series! These winter hikes are all close to drive to and 5-9 miles in length so we can get done in the morning and have all afternoon left to just enjoy. This hike is a REALLY pretty intercity hike that takes you to Lake Washington and back; about 7 to 8 miles in all.

2 meeting place options

#1.  For those coming from the South Sound, you can meet me at 7:15am in the South Federal Way Park and Ride; 901 S 348th St., Federal Way, WA, 98003.   Google Maps will take you right here.  I will be in this lot sometime after 7:00am in a dark gray Subaru Forester parking in the northwest area of the lot.  The lot will be pretty empty so you should see me.   I can fit up to 3 others in my car.

#2.  Second meeting option is at 8am at the Coal Creek Family YMCA.  Address:  13750 Newcastle Golf Club Rd, Newcastle, WA 98059.   Again Google Maps should take you there.  Park in the back area of the parking lot.  I will be there around 8am in a dark gray Subaru Forester.

This is a really nice intercity trail in which you do not even know that you are  within the city of Bellevue for much of the hike.  We will also travel to the Newcastle Beach Park on Lake Washington for some beautiful lake views  and a mid-hike break. Come enjoy a nice Sunday morning hike with me!
