Day Hike - Clark Lake Park

Trip

Day Hike - Clark Lake Park

From Wilson Playfields we will walk to and around a beautiful rural park on the Kent East Hill with interesting trails, a pretty lake on a fine day views over the Tiger Mtn. and Mt. Rainier. This is #3 in a series of "Explore Kent" hikes in April & May

  • Easy
  • Mileage: 3.9 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 132 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph average moving speed

10:00am Wilson Playfields, 13028 SE 251st St. Kent.

Directions will be emailed by the leaders as soon as registration closes on May 5.

From the Wilson Playing Fields where we will park and have shelter and restroom facilities we will hike about 3.5 miles on trails that include lakeside views and on a clear day a distant view of Mt. Rainier.

Our route will include some paved trail and road shoulder to reach the Clark Lake Park where the trails are a mix of dirt, grass and loose rock.

The park is situated on the Kent East Hill. This is a good option for winter trips when the days are shorter and snow can limit hiking in mountains. Sections of the trail could be a bit muddy at this time of year, but I think you will find it a fun short after Thanksgiving hike reveling one of Kent's hidden gems.

I propose to lead the trip at a moderate pack: approximately 2 mph average moving speed.

Full trip details will be sent out as soon as registration closes on May 5

No parking permit or map are needed for this trip.

COVID GUIDELINES This hike will follow the Healthy Washington Phase and the Mountaineers hiking guidelines for COVID-19 that apply on the date of this trip.
