Church Creek Trail (M) (Green Trails Mt. Tebo No 199 and Grisdale No. 198.) 6.4 mi. 2605' gain; 1650' going out and 955' coming back. Starting just above the S Fork Skokomish R, the trail ascends through silver fir, red cedar, large Douglas-firs and western hemlock. The twenty-four switchbacks leading to the divide cross several brooks with an occasional waterfall. Marsh marigolds, pioneer violets, huckleberry, trailing club moss, deer ferns, beargrass, avalanche lillies, trillium, and Alaskan cedar can be seen. Descending to the largest of the 5 Satsop Lakes will take us to our lunch break where we can watch the Eastern Brook trout feed. Contact Bruce Weese, 360-888-2302 or bruce.weese@comcast.net.
