Meet at the Lost Lake trailhead north of the Whatcom Co. line and MP14 in Larrabee State Park, east side of Hwy 11 (Chuckanut Drive) to consolidate cars if necessary for the rough Cleator Rd. Meet-up time is 7:30 a.m.

 

July 15, Sat. – Chuckanut MT: Cyrus Gates Overlook, N. Ridge Trail, Raptor Ridge, Lost Lake, Burnout viewpoint, Rock Trail Loop, (USGS Bow & Bellingham S., however Square One Map’s “Chuckanut Recreation Area” is far superior). Est. up to 13 mi. and 2,500’ gross elev. gain depending upon our energy level. The palnned route will start at Cyrus Gates at the end of Cleator Rd.   We will hike down the spectacular Rock Trail, through Burnout Clear-cut with its views of Mt. Baker and the San Juan Islands, loop around the east side of Lost Lake, continue north on the North Lost Lake Trail (with an optional side trip to the Raptor Ridge viewpoint) and return on the Ridge Trail. Pace will be moderate. A treat to share with the party is always welcome. Hint the leader likes cookies. Party limit 8.
