7: AM at Chinook Pass
Chinook Pass to Ohanepacosh Road via Pacific Crest Trail (VS) (GT Mt Rainier East & Bumping Lake) (USGS Chinook Pass & Cougar Lake) 18 mi one way. Car shuttle or key exchange. 5,200 ft gain northbound OR 1,600 gain southbound. Route follows the ridge of the Pacific Crest along the east boundary of MRNP, crossing the crest eight times in 11 miles. Meet 6:55AM on SR410 at carpark 0.3 mi east of Chinook Pass summit, 2 1/4 hrs.
