From the Tipsoo Lake Trailhead at Chinook Pass we will head north round Tipsoo Lake to close to the PCT north trailhead crossing Highway 410 on a footbridge.

We will follow the PCT east and then south along the eastern flank of Naches Peak. At about 1.5 miles the trail splits and we will continue south and descend about a mile and 600 ft. to Dewey Lake. We will circle the east shore of the lake and then continue south along the PCT about 2 miles to our destination, Anderson Lake. This will be our lunch stop and turnaround point.

We will return north along the PCT to a trail split just north of Dewey Lake. We will take the Dewey Lake trail to follow the east shore of the lake. We then rejoin the PCT at the north end of the lake and ascent the 600 ft. back to the trail junction with the Naches Peak Loop. Here we will turn left (west) onto the loop and hike back to the Tipsoo Lake trailhead, thus completing the Naches Peak Loop. On a fine day we will get impressive views of Mt. Rainier.

This is a just over 11 ml. round trip hike with 1,700 ft. elevation gain.

The hike will be led at a moderate pace of approx. 2 mph. A good standard of fitness is required. We will have breaks along the trail for water and snacks, clothing adjustments etc. Much of the trail is in the open, so please be prepared with sunscreen and lots of water.

All vehicles taken to the trailhead, that's within the Mt. Rainier National Park, will require a Mt. Rainier or National Parks Pass.

Full trip details including carpool information provided by participants who have set their profiles to "Open" will be emailed soon after registration closes at 5 pm on Sept.12. PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR THIS EMAIL!
