Chehalis River Surge Plain Trail (E) 8 mi. RT. No map needed. The Chehalis River Surge Plain Natural Area Preserve supports healthy Sitka-spruce-dominated wetlands laced with saltwater influenced slough channels. We will walk from Preachers Slough Rd, just South of Montesano to the Blue Slough access along the Chehalis River. The flat hike is on an old logging railroad bed.
