King County Metro bus route 78 stops right in front of the Center for Urban Horticulture on NE 41st Street. Metro bus routes 25, 65, and 75 stop at NE 45th Street and Mary Gates Memorial Drive NE. Route 67 stops at NE 45th and Montlake Boulevard NE.

This outing is another joint venture of Seattle Hiking/Urban Walks (plan and lead the walk) and The Mountaineers Development Office (manage the roster and assist on the walk).

Our Urban Walk is a modified version of Seattle Stairways Walks (2013) #7, University of Washington.  We've added a start from the Center for Urban Horticulture with a stroll through the Union Bay Natural Area, a birder's paradise.  Sometimes the trail is damp on that stretch.

We wander through the UW Athletic Village paying tribute to The Boys in the Boat and Huskies present and past.  We'll peek on hidden delights well beyond Rainier Vista and Red Square.  Students will be on campus to bring  to life the paths and open spaces.

Covid precautions call for all walkers vaccinated with masking optional.
