This hike has one of the biggest bangs for the buck in the North Cascades. The buck is about 8 miles and 2,000 feet of gain to the pass (more if we continue to Sahale Arm). The bang is fantastic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers in a very alpine setting. We will at least go to Cascade Pass. Depending on group ambition, weather, snow conditions, etc. we may continue up Sahale Arm for a ways. Either way, you can expect a reasonable workout. We won't be moving at a very fast pace, but this hike is definitely strenuous and you should plan for that. Please contact leader with questions via *EMAIL* - leader will be out of the country and will NOT be returning phone calls prior to this hike, but will be on email. About the UTHRs: The UTHRs (say "others") are a group aimed at bringing 20- & 30-something Mountaineers members together for fun and friendship. We believe that people in this age range should have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with their peers!
