Meet at Noon Saturday in the restaurant section of the general store at the entrance to Cape Disappointment State Park, reached by taking SR 100 west from Ilwaco and following the signs to Cape Disappointment State Park.

We will have lunch together on Saturday at the general store near the Cape Disappointment State Park entrance.  Then we'll caravan to the parking lot for Cape Disappointment Lighthouse and the Lewis and Clark Museum and hike to both ($5 per person entry fee for the museum).  Then we'll set up camp and do a one way hike, with a car shuttle, of beautiful 2 mile long Benson Beach, concluding with an exploration of the north jetty of the Columbia River.   A camp dinner will be followed by smores around the campfire.

Sunday, after a camp breakfast, we'll drive to Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach, Oregon, where we park three cars at the Indian Beach parking lot and ride in the other three cars to the north end of the Tillamook Head National Recreation Trail (6 miles, 1350 feet gain) and hike the trail to Indian Beach.  After returning to Seaside to retrieve the other three cars, we explore the sights of Seaside and Astoria, before returning to Cape Disappointment State Park for a camp dinner and smores around the campfire.

Monday, after a camp breakfast, we'll pack up camp and caravan to the North Head lighthouse and the north end of the Discovery Trail, where we'll leave three cars and then ride in the other three cars to the south trailhead.  After completing the hike (five miles, no gain) we'll retrieve the other three cars and then explore the sights of Long Beach, before returning home.

Check with the leader regarding campsite reservations and fees.
