Day Hike - Camano Island State Park

A gentle hike at a social pace that offers a little-of-everything - several easy hills, trails along the bluffs, a lovely forested loop & a great beach. On a clear day there are sweeping views across Saratoga Passage of the Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier & Whidbey Island.

  • Mileage: 4.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 600 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 - 2.0 mph

This is my mentored hike to obtain my leader badge, Liz McNett Crowl will be my mentor & co-leader.

We will meet at the North Parking lot (bear right at the stop sign upon entering the park).     We  will hike together as a group.

We'll walk along the  Loop Trail to the boat launch where there are more restrooms and a lovely beach.  We'll head up the hill to enjoy a lovely forested loop  on the Al Emerson Nature trail.  We'll take Roy's trail to reconnect with the Loop Trail once again until we return to the North Parking lot.    There are many places to stop for clothing adjustments, snacks/water & photos.    Depending on the weather & the groups wishes there are options for lunch after the hike.
