Day Hike - Burroughs Mountain

This loop hike is the easy segment to the 1st Burroughs Mountain, starting on the Sourdough Ridge Trail to Frozen Lake, to Burroughs Mountain Trail finishing Sunrise Rim Trail taking us back to the Sunrise parking lot.

Meet at 8AM at the Enumclaw Ranger Station on Roosevelt Ave (SR 410).  Please park in the gravel lot behind the Ranger Station.  We can consolidate cars here for the drive to Sunrise. Fee & Passes: A NPS Annual pass ($50 fee) or a day pass ($25 fee, good for 7 consecutive days) are required for entrance. Just one pass per vehicle is required for entrance.

Great views all along this route starting on the Sourdough Ridge trail, over the first hump of Burroughs Mountain, to an overlook of the Emmons Glacier and the beginnings of White River, finishing on the Sunrise Rim Trail pass Shadow Lake and the Sunrise Camp area. It is essential to be prepared for all types of weather and winds at this elevation. The first part of this trail will be treeless but will finish in subalpine and meadows.  This will be an easy pace hike and great opportunities for photos.
