9:00 AM at White R entrance to MRNP
NEW MEMBERS SPECIAL: Leisurely paced hike from Sunrise TH past Frozen Lake (and possibly marmots and mountain goats) up to alpine meadows with spectacular views of Mt. Rainier's glaciers. Bring your camera and/or binoculars. (Suggestion: pack food in Tupperware or other sturdy sealed containers, lest the cute furry critters steal it while you're not looking. They'll sure try.) Meet 9 a.m. just inside White River entrance to MRNP. Please allow ~2.5 hrs driving time from Seattle to meeting spot; the scenery makes it worth the long drive! New hikers, new members encouraged to contact leader prior to trip. Jon Shields, jon.shields@quidnunc.net or 206-932-0857 (home) or 206-979-0735 (cell, emergencies morning of hike only).
