Monroe Park & Ride, 7AM
Climb 3000 feet in 3 miles to a ridgeline, passing huckleberry bushes as you head up one switchback after another until arriving at a flowering sub-alpine meadow. Up-close views of Glacier Peak await and then there is the turquoise blue of the lake itself, being fed by the Columbia Glacier from above. This is a popular hike so do not count on being alone but the experience is worth it. Plan for a post-hike gathering for food and socializing at a nearby eatery. Riders should bring cash to help defray the cost of driving. Contact me with any questions.
