Our hike is along the North Fork of the Skokomish River and the Staircase Rapids. We will have a bit of an adventure seeing how far we can safely get to Big log Camp. Here is a link to WTA trip Report We will be adding a 2.4 mile R/T hike along the road due to the Park Gate being closed. We can expect to see some downed trees and tricky creek crossing’s, dry socks with bread bags over the socks can be handy if feet get wet. I’ve added micro spikes and trekking poles to the required gear, to aid in creek crossings. We will explore options getting around downed timber such as going over, under or around. We will determine an agreeable turn around time during the day, in the event we make it to Big Log it will be a 14 mile day. If the conditions are unpassable we will return to the cars and stop at the Big Creek loop trail on our way out to make a full day of it.
