Day Hike - Big Creek Loop

It's conditioner Wednesdays. This is not a hike! This is a conditioner. Phase I: Strength Training. Heavy packs encouraged (25%-30% body weight). Phase-I conditioner will not qualify for a conditioner requirement for Scrambling and/or Climbing.

  • Easy
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 4.3 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 850 ft
  • Pace: Conditioner pace

Meet at Mud Bay Park & Ride (Olympia, 98502) at 15:40 (3:40 pm).

I plan on driving and can accommodate 4 passengers.

You can also meet us at the trailhead at 16:30 (4:30 pm). If you plan on meeting us at the trailhead, please make sure to let me know.

Promptness is required; I don't wait that long.

WARNING: Strenuous Conditioner

The pace will be dependent on participants; I'm hoping somewhere between moderate and strenuous. Moderate would be defined as 60% of maximum heart rate, and strenuous as 80% of maximum heart rate. As a conditioner, we should break a sweat, and be in zone 3 for heart rate.

Phase-I is about strength training.

Tentative Schedule for Conditioner Wednesdays.

March: Big Creek Loop

April: Copper Creek

May: Mount Rose

June: Wagon Wheel

July: Mount Ellinor

August: Mount Washington

September: Mount Ellinor
