8:00 AM at Tibbetts Park n Ride
We will cross a couple of steep snow fields on our way to the ridge of Bandera Mountain. With southern exposure, most of this trek is melted free of snow. Hiking poles are suggested, especially for those with less than mountain goat balance. The ridge still has snow on it, so it should be pleasant summer day with a great view (clouds permitting) of Snow Lake below, Defiance, and possibly Granite. Bring a sit pad for the snow and your camera. Slow pace, so everyone can make it. Park n Ride is South of Exit 15. Take I-90 East, take Exit 15 ramp, and right (South) to Newport Way. Turn left at the light and then right into the parking lot. We will consolidate car pools at this location for trip to trailhead. Those wishing to meet at the trailhead at 9am, please email leader. Road to trail is pot holed and about 3 miles long. You can see parts of this trip that I did Saturday at nwhikers.net Click on Trip reports, and then look for Mason Lake Hike 6_14. CARPOOLERS: Remember Mountaineer Rider rate is 12 cents per mile.
