This hike is part of the Winter Conditioning Hike Series hosted by the Foothills branch. It is not part of a course or program. Like any other open hike, it is open to all Mountaineers members.
This is a nice steep desert hike in the Yakima Canyon, which generally is drier with better weather in winter months. This hike provides a great view of the canyon, as well as Mt. Rainier, Adams, and Stuart. I have also seen a large herd of bighorn sheep on this hill in the past. They are hit or miss, but if we get lucky they are quite the sight to see.
I encourage you to join me for lunch in Ellensburg afterwards. There are many great places to eat whether American, Mexican, Italian, or BBQ.
