Baldy & Tyler Peak

Trip

Day Hike - Baldy (Olympics)

Strenuous hike to a lofty summit on the NE corner of the Olympics. Wide open ridge-rambling in summer...

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 7.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 mph up, 2.0 mph down

This trip is in the NE corner of the Olympics, so if you are coming from Seattle you will have to figure out the ferry.

My goals for this trip are as follows:

1. Be safe.

2. Make it to the top of Baldy.

3. Explore a trail new to me.

My expectations for participants are as follows:

1. Have the physical conditioning necessary for this trip. The trail is steep and there is lots of elevation gain.

2. Practice Leave No Trace principles.

3. Be respectful of all participants.

0830 at the trailhead way up the Dungeness Valley (directions will be provided)
