Trip
Day Hike - Baker River & East Baker Lake
Let's begin by exploring the East Shore of Baker Laker to Noisy Creek camp; return, then explore the cedar groves and moss gardens along the pristine Baker River. We'll assess crossing Baker River in the AM (the bridge is out, but the river is crossable, according to the Ranger) If we decide against crossing it, we'll hike the Baker River Trail, then drive to another trailhead (Baker Lake) to get our miles. The weather forecast looks great.

We'll see "groves of old-growth giants, an imposing glacier-fed river, turquoise pools and views to rugged summits including Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan. Combining two shorter trails that extend in different directions from the same trailhead (safe & sane river crossing permitting), wanderers on this route will experience the best that the lowlands of Baker Lake and the Baker River have to offer.")
We'll tackle the crossing in the morning when flow is slowest - IF we determine it's not easily doable - we'll do the Baker River section (no Baker River crossing required) ~ 5.5 miles, return to our cars and drive to the Baker Lake Trailhead and cover ~6 RT miles of the southern end of the lake.
This is an excellent time of the year (quiet) to be on these trails.
My Style: Welcome & thanks for finding me here and sharing the outdoors. I thrive in nature and hope you do too! I love creating and leading hikes where we move at a good pace (with “joy stops”) while experiencing what hiking is all about – enjoying Nature’s offerings and surprises together. My primary role is to facilitate a safe experience physically and mentally, so I take that seriously. For me, the best hikes are those where we each contribute to the experience by sharing knowledge, humor, or quietly engaging.
I look forward to seeing you on the trail if this sounds like a fit for you!
My Expectations: 1) arrive personally prepared & conditioned, 2) adopt a visitor mindset, and 3) create harmonious vibes.
