Inside Baker Lodge at 8:30, we will then carpool up to Austin Pass or Artist Point, in as few cars as possible. NW Forest Pass required. Time is approximate, after breakfast and cleanup is complete. Â
Activity is part of the Mountain Queers weekend at Baker Lodge, although other LGBTQ+ identifying people are welcome to join as a day trip.  🌈🌈🌈 Destination may be changed given group interest and weather.  We will discuss at the Lodge, as well as on the trail.  Our primary goal is to have an enjoyable hike together, sharing time out in nature, and getting to know one another better. If amazing views of Baker and Shuksan allow, so much the better; and if so, we may then head further out the Ptarmigan Ridge instead. But returning to the Lodge for hot cocoa is also a worthy objective.  Our pace will be on the slower than moderate side so that everyone feels included, although please note that there will be likely be some rocky and steeper sections, so that trekking poles and sturdy shoes or boots are indicated.  Bring a pack with gear for potential elements, lunch and snacks, along with water. Â
Depending on group interest, options include: (1) all of us carpooling tightly to get to Austin Pass, with the drivers heading back to their cars, and others cutting the 7 mile loop a bit short and heading directly back to the Lodge; (2) all of us heading out from the Lodge on foot, and taking shorter or longer loops as interested; or (3) if weather is looking clear enough, heading out the Ptarmigan Ridge for bigger views. Â
