Day Hike - Ancient Lake

Note: This hike will include Dusty Lake as well as the three Ancient Lakes via a 7 mile counterclockwise loop. Much of this photogenic route will include moderately-fast hiking through sagebrush, but there are also a couple of rockslides to cross, as well as an interesting path between the lakes.

7:30 AM at the Issaquah Park and Ride near Tibbets Park. Drive time from park and ride is 2.5 hours or less. Projecting return to Park and Ride by 5:30 pm.

This is a beautiful hike, and was also selected in an attempt to avoid rain and possibly even find sun.

This hike is modified to include a loop that visits both lakes. The route between the two lakes is not that well known, but the lakes themselves are. The route between the lakes requires traversing a couple of lakeside boulder fields. The total mileage is about 7 miles and the elevation gain is approximately 600 feet.
