10:30 AM at North Parking Lot
THIS IS THE REGISTRATION FOR THE RUN In conjuction with the 100 Year Hike is a fun run via the Loop Trail in Discovery Park. Starting at the North Parking lot at 10:30am we will run approximately 5 miles as another form of celebration commemorating the first Mountaineering Outing February 17, 1907. The original group of 48 treked to Fort Lawton (now Discovery Park) where they greeted the post's commander, walked through the woods to the West Point Lighthouse, took a group photo, ate lunch and then returned at low tide along the beach. After the run we will convene with the Hikers at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center in Discovery Park. Following lunch, there will be a program at the ICC. Busses will return participants to downtown Seattle. Hikers will be sub-divided into branch groups. The branch with the greatest % of participation will be recognized. You can buy a box lunch at the ICC or bring your own. T-Shirts will be available!
