Cross-country Ski - White Pass Nordic Center

Join us to ski the groomed trails at White Pass. This trip is for experienced skiers and not for beginners. We may split the trips into two groups: classic and skaters. Distance varies as we tend to ski in the morning, then have lunch at the warming yurt and ski again in the afternoon. Please read the Leader Notes.

  • N3 Nordic Intermediate Ski
  • Challenging
  • Elevation Gain: 500 ft
  • Pace: 2- 2.5 miles per hour

The goal is to have fun and be safe. Skiers are expected to stick with their group: either classic or skaters.

Not for beginners.

Skiers must be able to maintain a consistent pace over varied up and down terrain. Must have a consistent diagonal stride, snow plow to maintain control going downhill and stop as needed. Must be able to do herringbone and we may need to do side step down some hills.

We will stop for changing layers as needed and once an  hour for snacks and beverages.

Overnight lodging is available in Packwood. The leaders will be staying in a private lodge near the Nordic Center and may drive down for dinner if there are people are staying in Packwood.

09:00 at the White Pass Nordic Center. No parking pass is required.

I recommend getting there early, as the parking lot can fill up early and to purchase your Trail Pass ($33 per day). Toilets are available at the trailhead.

Please arrive with all your gear and ready to go.
