Leader permission required.
For members who have completed basic Nordic ski class, with recent experience on multiple ski trips on green and blue groomed trails. Expected skills: good speed control with snowplow on downhills.
Lunch at heated cabin 5 minutes from trailhead. Restrooms near cabin.
Classic ski 8-11 miles on green and blue groomed trails, and optional short distance black trails. Well aim to do all green and blue trails. Grades range from flat to east and moderate hills.
We’ll take short breaks every 45 minutes or when necessary, and 20-30 minute lunch. Bring lunch, snacks, and water.
Expect to end skiing approx 3-3:30pm. Consider overnight accommodations (Sandy, Welches or Government Camp) along US-26 night prior and/or following, and perhaps add Nordic ski day on Sunday at Mt Hood Meadows Nordic trails see: SkiHood.com/Explore/Nordic
purchase adult day pass ($25) online at www.teacupnordic.org. Trail maps available online and on site.
Carpooling encouraged. Look for pre-trip email a couple days prior including updates.
Current Government Camp forecast (nearest to Teacup) shows 12+ inches new daily snow during weekend and 5-6 inches new snow on Monday, with temps mid 20s-mid 30s.

Rental gear available at Mt Hood Meadows Nordic center - reserve at SkiHood.com/Explore/Nordic for pick up at 8:30am at MHM Nordic center.
Approx drive times: from Olympia 3-1/4 - 3-1/2 hrs; from Vancouver, WA 1-1/4 - 1-1/2 hrs. Drive via I-5S, I-205S, I-84E to Gresham/Wood Vlg, to US-26E to Mt Hood/Govt Camp, to OR-35N toward Hood River to Teacup Sno-Park, along Rt side of highway (just N of MHM turnoff (on left).
Leader will be traveling from Vancouver WA.
OR sno-park pass required (day or season) at Teacup, Mt Hood Meadows and other Mt Hood area sno-parks. Season pass ($25 or $30? available online (dmv2u.oregon.gov) or at local OR vendors. $10 day pass available at local Oregon vendors (full list on dmv2u website): Wood Vlg (Plaid Pantry, Chevron Food Mart), Sandy (7-11, Plaid Pantry, Joe’s Donuts), Welches (Hoodland Foods, Thriftway), Zig Zag RD, Mt Hood Mdws).
