Leader Permission required as priority will be given to those registering for multiple days.
We will plan to ski the 9.4 KM Beaver Creek trail, with options for short loop excursions along the way.
Trail is groomed with both skate lanes and single tracks. Classic cross-country skis are recommended for this trip.
Most of the trail is rated intermediate but some sections are rated "more difficult" and some are "easy". There will be some hills that require herringbone and snowplow skills to navigate. This is not suitable for beginning cross-country skiers.
These trails will typically be groomed daily
Snow conditions may necessitate alternate ski routes, or possibly changing to snowshoe trip.
Additional Notes: Due to the traveling distance, the ski trip is best done as an overnight.
Travel: Driving distance from Seattle is 110 miles (a little over 2 hrs) traveling over Stevens Pass (Hwy 2), or 148 miles (about 2.5 hrs) traveling over Snoqualmie Pass (I-90) and Blewett Pass (Hwy 97). It will be necessary to either have 4-wheel drive with good traction tires and/or carry chains during the wintertime. Carpooling is also an option and more information will be shared as we get closer to the trip time.
Lodging: Leader has a cabin in Plain that participants are welcome to stay in. The cabin has 4 bedrooms and is limited to 3 additional participants/couples. There is a cozy fireplace, covered hot tub, tv and wifi. Cost is 50$ per person/per night (includes cleaning fee) payable directly to leader. We will coordinate meals. Please email me if you wish to stay here with your bed preference and number of nights/ guests. There are many other lodging options available as well, both in Plain (http://www.beavervalleylodge.com ) and in nearby Leavenworth http://leavenworth.org/lodging/
