Preston Park and Ride at 8:30 am.

Full directions will be provided to those who register.

Depending on conditions, we might require some vehicles with AWD/4WD and/or tire chains to enable us all to carpool from here to the trailhead.

We will ski from the Hyak Iron Horse Snopark along the flat John Wayne trail, following the shore of Lake Keetchelus. Maximum of 8 miles round trip. Nordic Classic or Skate skis required.

This trip is suitable for beginners and others who want to get their ski season started on a groomed flat trail. With two leaders, we will split into two groups: one for more experienced or faster skiers and one for novices or those who would like a relaxed pace. The leaders will be available for advice and skiing tips.

We can carpool from the Preston P&R, and all vehicles taken to the trailhead will require WA Snopark Passes. Day passes can be purchased at the snopark.

If it has been a while since you’ve used your skis or you have a new set of equipment, please take a few moments before the date of the trip to make sure that all of your gear is in hand and in working order.

We will finish around lunch time.

This trip is a mentored lead for Danielle Graham. Please contact her with any questions in advance:
