Cabin Creek

Trip

Cross-country Ski - Cabin Creek

We will do the Berg/Viking loop. A nice varied trail to get in some uphill and downhill practice.

  • N2 Nordic Advanced Basic Ski
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.8 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 200 ft
  • Pace: moderate

Priority given to 2020 Everett Nordic Ski Class, leaders permission required. This qualifies as a required class credit ski.

This Nordic ski SnowPark is popular because it packs a lot variety into a small area and is convenient to Seattle. The Viking and Berg trails connect and make a larger loop. (See the link below for the trail map.)

The Berg trail is rolling hills with few turns and is easier. A good warm up. The Viking trail is more intermediate and has steeper inclines with downhills that include turns. There are a lot of hill opportunities and you will get to practice your hill skills: herringbone, speed control and turning.

Meeting Place and Time:
9:00AM
Where:
Issaquah Transit Center Parking Garage 1st Floor
1050 17th Ave NW.
Issaquah, WA 98027

After we gather at the parking garage and check in we will then head to Cabin Creek. Its exit 63 off I-90 to the SnowPark Parking lot about 8 miles past the Summit at Snoqualmie Ski Resort

Note: cars traveling to cabin creek will need a SnowPark Pass.

AWD cars or cars that can use chains recommended given I-90 variable conditions.

The parking for Cabin Creek is on the south side of the highway and we walk across an overpass to access the trails.

If we have a weather emergency I will contact participants that morning to adjust or cancel the trip.

When our trip is done, if folks are up for it we could grab a warm beverage or bite to eat. TBD
