Meet at 8:30 am North Bend Safeway parking lot close to the tall Safeway/O'Reilly Auto Parts/Chase Bank sign in the parking lot. It's close to I-90 exit 31.

Directions to meeting place will be emailed to all participants as soon as registration closes on March 16.

PLEASE DON'T REGISTER UNTIL YOU HAVE REVIEWED THE NOTES BELOW, YOU ARE SURE YOU ARE AVAILABLE AND THE MEETING TIME AND LOCATION WORK FOR YOU.

BY REGISTERING THIS LEADER CONSIDERS YOU MADE A COMMITMENT TO THE TRIP. It's only good form to cancel in the event of an injury, illness or an emergency. Even if there are people on the wait list it's often difficult to move them up close to the trip date. THANK YOU!

CARPOOLING: Depending on conditions, we might require some vehicles with AWD/4WD and/or tire chains to enable us all to carpool from our North Bend meeting place to the trailhead. The leader will invite volunteer drivers from within the group to come forward once registration is closed.

If you are hoping for a ride you will have a better chance if you set your profile to "Open" and provide carpool information such as the area you live in and locations you can reach by transit to meet a driver.

We can car pool from the North Bend Safeway. All vehicles taken to the trailhead will require WA Snopark Passes. Day passes can be purchased at the snopark.

TRAILS: From the Cabin Creek Snopark we will have the option of skiing a variety of trails. Depending on the snow depth, recent grooming and weather I'm hoping we can focus on the superb undulating blue Viking Trail (probably excluding black rated Ozbaldy Loop) and ski it twice. We have lunch sometime during our ski. There will be no shelter so we will find the best location we can.

SKI SKILLS, STAMINA & EQUIPMENT: Please note: This is an approximately, 9 mile N2-N3 level round trip, so you will need to have good herringbone climbing skills and wedge including wedge turns for the way down and good stamina. The conditions we will find on the day are often difficult to predict in advance. Classic no-wax track skis or Nordic backcountry skis are recommended. Skate skiing is also an option subject to recent grooming. Please consult the leader if you wish to use other types of ski.

If you are uncertain of your ability and stamina or the equipment you have to manage this type of trip please consult the leader.

MORE INFO: Full trip information will be emailed out to those who sign up as soon as registration closes on March 16 at 5pm. Any questions in the interim can be emailed to the trip leader, Chris Ensor: ctrails@comcast.net
