Practice before Intermediate rock field trip 1, for Tacoma Intermediate students who have not set rock protection before.

Leaving Federal Way at 7am Friday morning.  Or meet at McDonald's in Squamish 11:30am.  Will send out information to coordinate car pools.

For Tacoma Intermediate students only, this is for extra practice Friday afternoon on setting natural protection and making anchors.

  • Passive protection (e.g. 1 set of nuts)
  • Active protection (e.g. 1 set of Black Diamond cams, size 0.4 to 3 or equivalent camalots)
  • Alpine draws (e.g. 6 sewn runners with 12 wiregate carabiners)
  • Self-braking belay device like Black Diamond ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso
