We will meet at the Red Rock Canyon Campground the evening of March 22. 

By invitation only.  This is outing is for Jeff and Stef's intermediate mentor group. 

Prerequisites:

  • Ability to lead 5.8 on bolts
  • Ability to set up a sport anchor
  • Ability to clear a sport anchor and transition to rappel
  • Ability to follow 5.8 comfortably on a multi-pitch route
  • Ability to lead 5.6 on gear preferred 

Participants are responsible for their own transportation both to Red Rocks and while there. We will be camping at Red Rocks Canyon Campground and participants are expected to camp with the group. The leaders will make a reasonable effort to reserve campsites for participants the day they arrive (the campground is first come first serve).

  • Active protection (e.g. 1 set of Black Diamond cams, size 0.4 to 3 or equivalent camalots)
  • Alpine draws (e.g. 6 sewn runners with 12 wiregate carabiners)
  • Self-braking belay device like Black Diamond ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso
