This is an informal dry tooling session open to all branches and is intended for current and former Alpine/Water Ice students or those with equivalent experience to gain climbing mileage.
Participants should have some level of ice climbing/dry tooling - leaders will share tips and tricks, but this is by no means an instructional outing.
We will be climbing rain or shine, so please pack sufficient layers to remain comfortable while standing in the rain. While we will have gear to share, please do your best to pack the following:
- Rope
- Helmet
- Ice Tools
- Harness
- Belay Device
- Climbing shoes/boots (crampons are welcome but not required)

May also require:
- Passive protection (e.g. 1 set of nuts)
- Active protection (e.g. 1 set of Black Diamond cams, size 0.4 to 3 or equivalent camalots)
- Alpine draws (e.g. 6 sewn runners with 12 wiregate carabiners)
- Self-braking belay device like Black Diamond ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso
