If using this as your official conditioner for Intensive Basic, you will need to carry 25 lb or 20% of your body weight, whichever is greater, but no more than 50lb. We'll aim to reach the summit in approx 2 hr (3.5 mi, 3300 ft gain). I will bring a scale. The Old Si trail is more strenuous than the new trail but it is still very doable in 2 hours. I'll stay in the back of the group - if you are ahead of me, you will pass the conditioner.

It would be great to have an assistant leader for this trip who is willing and able to stay near the front of the group. We'll mostly be staying together but an assistant will allow greater flexibility if someone is struggling and unable to maintain the desired pace. If you'd like the assistant leader spot, please just shoot me a quick email acknowledging that you can maintain the pace and are willing to hang out near the front.

We'll all descend together and make sure nobody accidentally takes the new trail down. :-)

Meet at the Little Si overflow lot at 7:30 AM. The main lot typically fills early and it will be easiest to find each other here.

There are pit toilets at the main lot which we can walk to together after our intros. The timer for the ascent won't start until we leave the main parking lot trailhead.
