This is a leisurely paced snowshoe walk on a road suitable for beginners.

9:30 AM in the FS6700/Smith Brook Road pullout on US-2 east of Stevens Pass.

This trip will go along a snow-covered road, suitable for easy snowshoeing and great for beginners as well as experienced snowshoers looking to enjoy the fresh crisp mountain air.

One assistant leader mentorship slot is held for experienced snowshoers interested in becoming snowshoe trip leaders.  Please contact SuJ'n before registering as an assistant leader.

All snowshoe trips are subject to change or cancel pending current conditions.


  • Take US-2 east over Stevens Pass.
  • Continue eastward another 5.7 miles and exit left opposite the Stevens Pass Nordic Center.
  • In 0.2 miles, turn left again into the westbound lanes of US-2
  • Drive 1.5 miles west to the pullout/parking area on the right (north) side on the highway.
  • Roughly 90 miles and 2:00 hours from downtown Seattle.
