The Mountaineers 2015 Basic Snowshoe Class is now full, with a waitlist. If you were unable to sign up, this trip, while not satisfying the Basic Snowshoe requirement, will provide you with a gear check together with the fundamentals of moving safely through the winter environment and the opportunity to receive first-hand information on other Mountaineers courses and trips.

Please review the Ten Essentials and come prepared. Beginners and experienced climbers alike need to be able to deal with the unexpected. Blue jeans and other cotton clothing are NOT suitable for winter travel. Come dressed in synthetic and woolen layered clothing only, together with a waterproof outer shell. Avoid single, bulky garments. Bring sturdy, insulated and waterproof boots. Ski poles are recommended, but not required.
