9:00 AM at Entrance to Stevens Pass Lodge
This is an instructional tour for building igloos and snowcaves. Come learn how to build a snow structure or just brush up on your skills. The type of structure will depend on the snow. Typically spring snow is very stable and easy to use. The longer daylight will allows us more time, so we won't have to rush. We'll meet at the entrance to Steven Pass Lodge at 9AM. From there it is about a 2 mile snowshoe following the cat tracks while gaining ~600 feet. Everyone will bring a tent or share one. The leader will contact participants the week before the trip to coordinate sharing of gear. It is recommended that you have prior camping/backpacking experience. If Steven Pass lodge is open the leader expects to stay there on Friday night and encourages others to do so as well. Questions contact the leader: Rich Lawrence,, 425-957-1759 (before 9PM)
