Beginner Snowshoe - Denny Creek Campground

This is an easy and relatively flat trip along I-90 to stomp around in the snow!

  • Easy
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 5.0
  • Elevation Gain: 200 ft

This is an easy, low-avy-risk snowshoe hike assuming snow levels allow. Once at the campground, there is up to one mile of terrain to trek through and explore - and another mile to view Franklin Falls if the group so decides. The total distance on this day will be between 2-4 miles.

This trip does not require course completion and is open to anyone. This trip would be appropriate for most conditioning levels, although the trip to Franklin Falls does add up to about 40 flights of stairs. Please be mindful of yourself and your fellow group members while assessing your fitness level for this trip. Youth are also welcome with an accompanying guardian.

One assistant leader mentorship slot is held for experienced snowshoers interested in becoming snowshoe trip leaders.  Please contact SuJ'n before registering as an assistant leader.

Inclement weather may cancel the trip. All snowshoe trips are subject to change or cancel pending current conditions.

7 AM at Issaquah Transit Center (1050 17th Ave NW., Issaquah), east side of the ground floor. Look for silver Impreza wagon with hatch up.
