Park opens at 8am. Paddlers arrive by 9 am, on the water around 9:45. Back around Noon. Non paddling family and guests arrive at noon. Graduation at 2 ish. Don't forget to bring your Discover Pass.  We have the picnic shelter at the north end of the beach reserved.

This is our annual Olympia Sea Kayak Picnic and recognition for this year's Basic Sea Kayak Class graduates.  The day includes a morning paddle south to the Skokomish River delta.  This year lunch will be "bring your own", but we will provide dessert - cake, ice cream, watermelon.  We have the picnic shelter reserved, but bring chairs to let us spread out more.

These essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  2. Paddle
  3. Kayak with flotation in both ends
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Paddle float and pump
  6. Whistle
  7. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
