This trip is primarily intended for students in the Olympia Winter Travel Course.  This trip is suitable for novice skiers and snowshoers, with a modest elevation gain and reasonably short distance overall.  It is an out-and-back affair on a road grade with few hazards and gentle terrain.  While mostly in the trees, there are occasional views along the path.  Along the way there  are a few minor hills where skiers can play if they choose.  This will be a very slow pace, intended for those new to snowshoeing and skiing, and snowshoers and skiers will stay together.  We'll stop for lunch at the turn-around spot.
