Wenatchee Crest

Trip

Basic Snowshoe - Wenatchee Crest

Explore the crest of the Wenatchee Mountains and admire views of the Enchantments to the north.

  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 480 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 4,892 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0

Assemble carpools and meet up at the Blewett Pass Sno-park at 10 am. Note that a Sno-park pass is required for all drivers, as well as chains for crossing Snoqualmie Pass.

We'll start from the Wenatchee Crest trailhead, mostly following the old road that follows the ridge. We will detour from the road to go up and over Cairn Hill, avoiding the north face that could be a potential avy risk. We'll ascend to the top of Old Pass Hill for lunch and views before returning to the cars.

Depending on group desire, options to extend the trip (it is a long drive out there!) would be to:

(a) Continue along the ridge toward Old Blewett Pass.

(b) Explore the Swauk Discovery Trail south of the highway.
