Basic Snowshoe - Reflection Lakes Loop

Easy snowshoe trip for Tacoma Basic Snowshoe Students. Elevation gain is listed at 900 feet, but there are alternate routes with less, depending on group decision.

Meet at the South Hill Park and Ride at 0730 am to set up carpool to MRNP.   Leave the South Hill Park and Ride at 0800 to drive to MRNP.  Participants desiring to meet at MRNP can meet the group at the north end of the Longmire Parking Lot (adjacent to the Park Permit Building) at 0930.

Weather and Avy dependent trip.  Participants will be notified via email the day before the trip as to go/no-go status.

Group will decide on the route to Reflection Lake at the Park and Ride (there are easy and easy + options, and is dependent upon group decision.

This trip is listed for Tacoma Basic Snowshoe students to obtain the experience snowshoe trip for graduation, and to build on the skills practiced during this past weekend's Field Trip.  Group will decide on the route from Narada Falls to Reflection Lake.

  • Poles
  • Insulation Pad, Extra Insulation Insulation Layer (puffy, overcoat, sweater, etc.) for stopping for lunch.
  • Shovel if you have one for digging seats at lunch, and for practicing digging in snow.
