We will meet at Longmire at 8:45 am. ***Please note you may want to arrive at Longmire between 8:00-8:30 am to use the bathroom otherwise you may be stuck in a line of cars prior to Longmire.
In addition to the required personal gear your vehicle will need to have chains and a National Park or America the Beautiful Pass at the entrance. At Longmire, look for my white 4Runner for our meet-up. The gate usually opens around 9:00 am where we'll meet-up, gear shift if necessary then caravan to the Narada Falls parking area. If the gate does not open, we'll snowshoe in the Longmire area. Plan to break trail and be prepared to have a snowy and fun adventure!
Vehicle travel at Mt. Rainier from Longmire to Paradise is closed this winter season Tue-Thursday. Please look for a trip plan overview 10 days ahead and an additional update 24-48 hrs in advance with trip weather conditions, maps, gpx and carpool suggestions. Since our trip is on Friday, I anticipate a snowy trail, with our group taking turns in front. We might even have some fun with navigation route finding this day. Here is my trip report from the last time I did this route.
