Basic Snowshoe - MTTA Yurt
Snowshoe to the MTTA Yurt and possibly Sno-Bowl Hut on the way back. Snowshoeing is fun but it's even better when you have a warm, dry cabin to eat lunch in!

This snowshoe trip is on roads and MTTA trails. We will make the Yurt our first priority and if time allows visit the Snowbowl Hut on the way back.
My goals for this trip are as follows:
1. Be safe.
2. Get a good workout. There are no real steep spots on this trip, it's just a longer trip for a snowshoe.
3. Have fun
My expectations for participants are:
1. Practice Leave No Trace principles.
2. Be respectful of all participants.
3. Have the necessary gear and clothing to be comfortable in the snow for a long(er) day.
4. Have the necessary physical conditioning for this trip. There are no real steep parts but 12-13 miles is a lot on snowshoes, especially in certain snow conditions.
Road 1 Sno-Park (lower lot) at 0800. Road 1 is south of Ashford, is gravel and is plowed when necessary. The road to the lower sno-park is in good condition and easily drivable by all vehicles. Sno-Park permit required to park.
