Basic Snowshoe - Mazama Ridge (Mount Rainier)

A tour up to Mazama Ridge, down to Reflection Lake and back on the Paradise Road. Through forests and meadows, over hills to the lake. The pace will be easy so we can adjust the trip to be an enjoyable adventure for new snowshoers.

Meet at 6:30 am at Safeway, 4280 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA 98516. Parking in the van pool spaces. We will leave at 7am. Carpool gas $11. We'll be on the trail from 9 am ish to 3 pm ish. Return time to Olympia can really vary, likely before 5 pm. I don't recommend making time sensitive commitments after the trip.  We may need more than one car. The driving is all on paved roads. Drivers and vehicles need to be prepared for snow and ice.

We will be traveling some steep trail on soft snow. It will be aerobic but we will take breaks as needed.

Olympia basic snowshoe students completing this year's course will have registration priority. Email me and let me kow if you're in the course.
