Stevens Pass Nordic area, time TBD, no passes required.
This is one of my favorite Basic snowshoe destinations, all trail, no road, lovely forest, stream and lake. Depending on snow and weather conditions as well as our energy, plan will be to have lunch at the lake, followed by a circumnavigation of the lake and meadows above, before we head back down.
This trip is aimed at students who recently completed Seattle’s December Basic Snowshoe course field trip, but not necessarily the Avalanche awareness course. This is an opportunity to spend more time on snow, practice skills learned in our recent field trips, and have fun. Basic snowshoe badge holders outside of Seattle’s December group are open to join as of December 20.
