Trip
Basic Snowshoe - Cowlitz Rocks (winter)
A snowshoe to the quiet side of Paradise. Destination is Cowlitz Gap, so ice axes not required. This is a strenuous trip and has a lot of exposure to the elements (sun, wind, etc).

This area gets much less traffic than the typical route to Panorama Point and Camp Muir. There is nothing technical or terribly steep about this route but it does have consistent climbing and is exposed to the elements (sun, wind, etc).
My goals for this trip are as follows:
1. Be safe.
2. Make it to Cowlitz Gap.
3. Learn something.
My expectations for trip participants are:
1. Follow Leave No Trace principles.
2. Have the necessary physical conditioning for this trip. 8 miles and 2400' of gain on snowshoes requires more fitness that the same distance/gain on a hike.
3. Have the necessary gear and clothing to be safe and comfortable.
4. Be respectful of all participants.
