Basic Snowshoe - Commonwealth Basin

Registration limited to Olympia snowshoe course students until February 14. We will walk the road from the Snoqualmie West Summit parking area uunder I-90 to the PCT Trailhead, then travel along Commonwealth Creek to Commonwealth Falls and then head up into Commonwealth Basin where it opens up to views of Red Mountain and Lundin Peak. About 5 miles r/t with 900' elevation gain.

9:00 at North Bend Safeway shopping center, by the tall sign that says "Safeway" and "O'Reilly Auto Parts"; then at 9:45 a.m. ready to walk, at Snoqualmie West Summit parking (no permit required). 

If you took a Mountaineers Basic Snowshoe course this year or last, this trip will give you an opportunity to use the skills you learned, and satisfy your 2-trip requirement.  Moderate rating is based on elevation gain (900').  More information will be emailed to registered participants a few days ahead of the trip.
