  • Be comfortable with the elevation gain and traveling on loose rocks/screes before signing up on this trip.
  • Good fitness is very important. Most basic rock climbs' approach hikes cover 2.5~3 miles with 2,500"~3,000" in elevation gain. You will also carry your leader's ropes, because leaders will carry the cams and nuts that are equally heavy. We are looking at ~35-lb pack weight for followers.

Meet 7:00 AM at the Snow Lakes TH on Icicle Road. We'll then drive to the pullout further up Icicle Road. For those of you who plan to leave cars at the Snow Lakes TH, you will need a Forest Service pass or America the Beautiful pass to park there.

There is a bathroom at the TH, or you can use the ones at 76 gas station or  Argonaut Coffee
