The plan is for a fun day on a beautiful, fairly easy climb. We will approach from the Cave Ridge Trail. See this track for reference.  Expect a strenuous approach with steep uphill. There is no water on this approach, so we will need to carry all our water for the entire day. The pace won't be fast, but we will be efficient and try to keep breaks to about once per hour. The  climbing on this route isn't difficult, but there is a fair amount of exposure. So we will rope up on the ascent, even for the class 3/4 sections.

Rope leads, request permission any time. Priority for participant spots is as follows:

  1. Priority to graduates of the Basic Alpine Climbing course from any branch who have volunteered at any of the climbing courses this year until 9/7.
  2. Registration open to anyone with appropriate badges starting 9/8.

When requesting permission, please use the Request Leader Permission button and include the following information:

  • How you've volunteered with the climbing courses this year,
  • What you've done to stay up to date on your rock climbing skills, and
  • What conditioning you've done that will make you successful on the approach.

Time TBD (expect it to be early) at the Alpental parking lot. Full details to be communicated via email prior to the trip.
